<SimonC> Well, a class 3 gives an excellent range with one, but for combat I would put the class 2 in and leave only enough cargo for fuel.

<SimonC> The problem with FFE is that there aren't a lot of things that make a difference between ships, so some are always going to be pointless.

<SimonC> I'm thinking about radically different things, so that all the ships aren't so much of a variation on a theme.
<SimonC> For example, the airfighters should be able to fly like aircraft in an atmosphere, and run rings around anything else as a result.
<SimonC> In the original Elite the Asp had very strong shields, but not much cargo space.
<SimonC> OK, you can get half way there by using up most of the cargo with shields, but it should be tougher IMO.
